For Citizens of Ulhasnagar consumer of Water Supply at Ulhasnagar

The work of new water supply distribution system under JnNURM in Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation is being executed by fast growing companies of Ulhasnagar Konark infrastructure and Eagle construction and supervised by the UMC All the people who pay taxes to Government are co owners of the scheme from Richest to poor all citizens of Ulhasnagar

In old existing distribution system there are about 50% losses in supplied water to Ulhasnagar township due to leakages and other reasons. Hence to curb losses from 50% to less than 15% the new project is being executed which will stop the wastage and improve the supply at consumer end

This very purpose can be achieved only if hydraulic testing of new water mains and distribution is done properly before the actual use of this newly laid pipeline in the system it will ensure that leakages will be under control as targeted and will also assure low maintenance cost of scheme after execution.

But till date no hydraulic test as per the laid down norms is conducted and also there is provision in the tender document that payment of 10% shall be held and shall be released only after the hydraulic testing is conducted and passed Practically at Ulhasnagar only water is filled in pipeline and is declared as ok and ready for use on this payment is released and certified by the Engineers who supervise the work and surprisingly government officers who come and do the third party inspection and representatives of various authorities like MMRDA have not raised any objection on it thus in this way very purpose of launching new distribution system of water supply is defeated

Being a aware citizen, co-owner of the projects being carried out by the UMC, responsible media persons, Public representatives Comparators, Commissioner Administrative officers, social organizations, MLA must look in to the matter for the betterment of township because these people generally don’t know about the technical’s To know more all about the hydraulic testing of pipelines and its methods just simply make the Google search

I really do not know how many technical persons engineers and experts are available with the Konark and Eagle construction who are executing this work and how they are doing the hydraulic test if they are following the procedure then they must give proof and photographs of hydraulic testing conducted And how many engineers on behalf of UMC are supervising the new water supply scheme have the technical knowledge of hydraulic testing and if have it then why contractors are not instructed to do it as per norms

I do not have prejudice with any one neither with contractor, nor with the UMC authorities I have shared my view just to bring awareness and in the interest of people of Ulhasnagar township who are the owners and end consumers of the new scheme.
